Active Control Retractor (ACR8 & ACR8.S)

The Active Control Retractor ACR8 is ZF's 3rd generation motorized retractor technology. It can enhance occupant protection by reverse pretensioning during pre-crash, avoidance maneuvers and other highly-dynamic scenarios. It also supports introduction of automatic emergency braking (AEB) and emergency steer assist (ESA) by reducing occupant displacement.

This innovative frontal collision airbag module construction is installed in the roof area of the vehicle and is designed to deploy in front of a passenger. The design provides weight reduction by removal of metal parts. It could be applied for front and rear seat passengers.
